Since 2023, De Jong Verpakking has been part of Stora Enso, a global market leader in renewable materials, with a strong focus on packaging. From now on, we will also be operating under that name. You will continue to work with the same team, from the same factory in De Lier. What’s new is the expertise and scale of an international organisation.

Nothing will change in terms of our working relationship. You’ll be working with the same people, the same products and the same service.

You’ll benefit from the short lines of communication of a factory in De Lier, combined with the security and expertise of an international multinational. We have access to research and development in the field of materials and packaging.

Our factory in De Lier is part of a group of companies that complement one another. This includes four wholesalers in the Netherlands and Belgium: Bangma, Karpack, Twinpack and KPMB. The Rudico Group is also part of the group, specialising in flexo plates, pre-printing and the cleaning of anilox rollers. Together, we supply packaging from development and production right through to delivery from stock, and we support the printing process behind it.

Our factory in De Lier began in 1996 as De Jong Verpakking. Henk de Jong started out in Westmaas producing packaging for the fruit and vegetable sector. In 2007, the company moved to De Lier. We have been part of Stora Enso since 2023.

Yes. We develop corrugated cardboard packaging in collaboration with you, tailored to your product, your logistics and your production process. Our packaging designers take strength, material usage and sustainability into account.

Yes, we supply pallet lids and pallet sheets in the standard sizes 80×120 cm and 100×120 cm. The pallet lids are available in various heights, both glued and unglued. We do not sell custom-sized cardboard sheets for further processing. All the cardboard we produce is processed by us into packaging.

In our production process, we have a minimum order size of 3,000 m². The number of boxes therefore depends on the size of the packaging. From these quantities onwards, your packaging can be made to measure. For the fruit and vegetable market, we have an extensive range of fruit and vegetable trays in stock for you to choose from.

That depends on the format, construction, type of paper, quality, corrugated cardboard, printing and production quantities.

Preprint is a type of paper that is printed before it is processed in the factory. In a pre-print factory, such as Felco in Eerbeek, this paper can be printed with high-quality printing in up to 8 colours and with a varnish finish. Post-print is a printing technique that we use in our corrugated cardboard factory. The boxes are printed on the processing machines after the corrugated cardboard has been produced. That is why this technique is also called post-print.

We make our packaging from paper, partly recycled and partly virgin. For the virgin paper, we use FSC®-certified material from responsibly managed forests. After use, corrugated cardboard can simply be disposed of with waste paper, and because it folds flat easily, it takes up little space when disposed of.

Our factory in De Lier is certified to FSC® and BRCGS Packaging Materials. The FSC® certification demonstrates that the paper we use comes from responsibly managed forests or from recycled sources (licence number FSC-C108472, certificate number CU-COC-818959).

Corrugated cardboard is produced by gluing three layers of paper together. The middle layer of paper forms a corrugation. You can see this by looking inwards at the side of the corrugated cardboard. The height of the corrugation can vary. It is also possible to produce double-wall corrugated cardboard, in which case you can see two corrugations. Corrugated cardboard is often used as shipping packaging or for storage boxes and can be used for a wide range of products, such as tomatoes, computers, shoes or nails. Corrugated cardboard is easy to process and print on, making it simple to produce custom-sized cardboard boxes.

Stora Enso has its head office in Helsinki, Finland, and branches in over 30 countries. In the Netherlands, we manufacture corrugated board and corrugated board packaging at our factory in De Lier, in the Westland region on the former Westerlee auction site.

At our site in Den Hoorn (Westernesse 6, Den Hoorn), we assemble flat boxes so that they are ready for immediate use by the customer.
